Models for product design and development in additive manufacturing

This paper presents three tentative models for designing for Additive Manufacturing. The purpose of these models has been to introduce different business areas suited for Additive Manufacturing, the potential user is practicing designers who would like to pursue this emerging technology for end products. The three models presented are; Direct Individual Production, Direct Micro Production and Direct License Production. These models have been generated from the PhD thesis Designing for Additive Manufacturing; Perspectives from Product Design (Killi 2013).
